Today's workshop on code modifying images and
source material for use was interesting; I was pleased that I managed to insert
code (from SlitScreen) for saving to 2 other programs; AsciiVideo and
LivePocky. I imported the stills from these to FCP and adjusted the opacity of
each layer to 30% and offset the start of the layers. The resulting video is on
my YouTube account. http://youtu.be/zy7wa6WyKWY
Works in progress, Review materials, project work, open forum, critical review, upload area, test bed.

animation modelling - some inspiration
this is one of the many videos I was looking at of solar flares, sun spots etc. on reading the terms of use, decided not use the video

sun..light..eyes...seeing...darkens..expires. Finally something that is less random and more conforming to the idea in my head when I started. FCP editing thank you Burns effect, radial blur, continuous title, sound effects etc. some screen shots of the processes for the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=109iLLCIfwY
Reviewing the video the effects seemed too obvious so toned down the effects e.g. intensity and removed some of the effects in second edit round.

FinalCutPro slideshow
This is my two minute video, really as slide show, using FCP where I have imported stills via iPhotos, editing the timing, applied transitions, and exported to YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=new5iBFVShk&feature=em-upload_ownerThis link is to the most helpful tutorial of quite a number I tried. The tutor goes super slow, just perfect for me ! The other screen shot of a tutorial was OK for starters to import only. I found it easier to import via iPhoto. http://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/create-a-video-slideshow-in-final-cut-pro-x/

All my information for my work is on this tumblr.
I have constructed a sound piece entitled 'Incredibile ma vero'. Meaning unbelievable but true.
It's a mixture of my own guitar playing, sound effects and my great grandfather speaking.
I wanted to create a piece in homage to my great grandfather, mixing his work and my own. I wanted it to be eery and somewhat hard to listen to. My plans with the video work is to sync up the footage of the interview with my great grandfather, whilst mixing it with images I've taken in photography and also my own collage work. Creating a surrealistic video/sound installation.
My main influences are Henri Chopin, Hans Richter, Jeff Keen, Marcel Duchamp and the whole Dada movement.

CHEERS
butt load of process/research pictures
Pushing clay into the crevices of Gertie, trying to get the shape of her curves
Took out clay moulds and brushed wax over them to make the inverse cast for the latex (to make sure Gertie would get dirty or covered in latex mess)
Bacon pieces as textural research for the meaty flaps, they were covered in latex as well (although don't have photos of them) but i think some kind of animal came in and ate them while they were drying out the back of sculpture. But I found you can cook bacon really well with a heat gun, its easier to make it evenly cooked and its gradual for the crispy edges. plus the smell kind of covered up the gross latex smell.
This is after I'd done a few layers of latex in the wax moulds
AND they do look like ears
seeing what the latex looked like on Gertie (it reminds me of waffles)
Mixing colours to get a good skin tone, this is to mix with the latex because its quite transparent so the acrylic will hopefully make the latex look more fleshier.
^ the acrylic paint mixed with the latex
Latex waiting to dry
both the first trial latex pieces in Gertie
