STAN BRAKHAGE
One of the most inspiring and beautiful pieces of experimental film I have seen is Stan Brakhage's Mothlight (1963)
I am very interested in exploring the possibilities of found footage/raw film and the manner in which composition can work to establish a form of art through paint, found objects, cutting, burning, splicing, scratching, and many others.
Brakhage's work is also very interesting in terms of image projection. Light and projection are important contributors to the effect of the final piece of film as they allow for minute and delicate details to be enhanced.
