research on stereo photography

As I have previously mentioned, I am interested in going in the direction of photography and the digital construction of gifs as a means of portraying an interesting sense of composition. I have been looking at gifs on tumblr through that embody the stereo photography style of gifs, more easily understood as 'wobble pictures'.

I have compiled a couple of my favourite blogs that dedicate their pages to mostly stereo photography artworks. The amount of photoshop manipulation and technique applied to these gifs in order to create aesthetic animations is really beautiful, if done particularly well.

Here are a few gifs that I have collected that really caught my eye.

The application of composition is demonstrated in a very unique way, with the major element of layering bringing the image to life. The resulting multi-layered effect creates an air of intricacy to the gif, as it strives to present multiple images/settings/people in a captivating manner.

The camera angle employed for the photographs in this gif achieve a compositional effect that mimics a museum exhibit or kistch decor picture. I really love the way the use of stereo photography --> to gif form brings life and motion to the bears, which are obviously part of a museum exhibit.

The above image uses its quaint quality to bring a particularly vintage aesthetic to the scene. The composition of the image shows the use of perfect framing and camera angle in order to animate the scene between the two women. This gif successfully approaches composition to represent traditional Japanese culture.

The artist has skilfully positioned the camera to present a multi angled animation. The way in which composition has been experimented with in terms of  foreground and background elements is very effective.
